Following the tragic IAF chopper crash on December 8 – wherein India lost its first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika and other armed forces personnel, Group captain Varun Singh has also succumbed to injuries.
Captain Singh, the sole survivor of the helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu, was undergoing treatment at the Command Hospital Air Force in Bengaluru, took his last breath on Wednesday.
Indian Air Force from its official twitter handle tweeted “IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family.”
PM Narendra Modi also took to twitter expressing anguish over his passing away.
