It is rightly said, “If faith is real, it finds a way.” However, this time people’s faith has found its way through social media. Every year the Shree Somnath Temple in Prabhas Patan, Veraval in Gujarat, witnesses a footfall of lakhs of people. However, the total view count on Somnath Tempe’s official Youtube channel has been millions. According to the data, millions of people from more than 45 countries have visited the platform for ‘Darshan.’

The Live Darshan service for Shree Somnath Temple started in 2015 with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube. In 2021, the total view count on social media accounts was 77 crores and 79 lakhs. The providers use the mirrorless camera technique for high-definition video quality for the worshippers.

With the support of the Central and Gujarat government, the Somnath Temple Trust has created world-class facilities for the devotees. However, they have also made arrangements for the devotees who cannot make it to the temple. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the channel was a great source of positive energy for the devotees.

In July 2022, more than nine crore people visited the Somnath temple through various social media platforms. The Instagram Reels are a centre of attraction for young devotees. According to the analytics, the reels and videos reach crores of people every day. The Somnath Temple trust has also enabled the e-pooja for the devotees who cannot make it to the premises. Moreover, all other details, including sightseeing places and booking information, are available on www.somnath.org.
