Stone Pelting Situation Out Of Control In Himmatnagar

| Updated: April 10, 2022 19:15

Gujarat and various parts of India will celebrate Ram Navmi on 10th April in 2022. However, an attempt came to light that disrupted the peace in the Himmatnagar district of Gujarat. The matter came to a head when some anti-social elements pelted stones during a procession on the eve of Ram Navami in the Chhapariya area. The exact cause of the stoning is not yet known.

News of the incident reached the nearby police station. The cops responded to the situation immediately and rushed to the location of the riot. To bring the riot under control, cops had to fire tear gas shells. However, during the incident, the district police DSP faced injury.

The situation has become so out of control that the district police has sought help from paramilitary. According to the information received, there was also great anger among the devotees, who retaliated with stones and made the situation worse. The riots have caused heavy damage to vehicles as well.

Even though a police convoy has reached the location for further violence prevention, there are rumors that the police personnel on patrol in the incident were also stoned. Police believe that the attack was intentional, given the attack’s nature. They say that the collection of stones happened beforehand on terraces and highlands.

The injured cops are currently getting treatment, and the department is investigating the incident as they look for more clues.
