A policeman in Ahmedabad killed himself and his family recently, and the wounds haven’t healed yet. In that background, a police constable named Prakash Pardhi who tried to kill himself while working at the police headquarters in Rajkot city, succumbed to death while being treated. After he completed his job, Prakash Pardhi went home to Ambedkarnagar in Rajkot. There he had tried to kill himself by drinking poison. He was rushed to the emergency room at Rajkot Civil Hospital for care as soon as his family found out, . He was getting care in the emergency room where he breathe his last.
Devjibhai, Prakash Pardhi’s father, said that Prakash had been married earlier but that his wife only spent two months with her in-laws. She went back at her parents and didn’t come back. Divorce was pronounced a few months ago. Before he consumed the medicine, he also talked with a woman who might be his ex-wife.
There has been a spat of suicide cases among police employees recently. A woman employee took her life in South Gujarat and in a gory incident a family of three jumped to death from 12th floor in Ahmedabad. The higher-ups in police department have taken the matter seriously with Commissioner of Police Sanjay Srivastava saying that there is a team of experts available to talk to if any police employee feels to deal with one or other mental agony. He has said ” Suicide is not solution”
