Surat might become the next hub for jewellery shopping in the world. The owners of Gujarat Diamond Bourse and Ichchhapor Gems and Jewellery Park have reportedly decided to build the largest jewellery mall in Ichchhapor Jewellery Park, Surat.
The mall will be built over 55 thousand square feet over a land of 10 lakh square feet. It will house 850 jewellery showrooms, construction of which is expected to cost around Rs 850 crores. Around 650 visitors from Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore will be coming to visit the site of the mall.
Gujarat Diamond Bourse MD Nanubhai Vanani informed that the jewellery showrooms will be spread across the 55 thousand square feet of land. And the remaining land will be used for manufacturing units of jewellery and diamond cutting. Around 125 companies will be manufacturing their products in the remaining land.
Currently, a total of 18 companies are operating and the turnover from each company (reportedly) ranges from Rs 3000 crores to Rs 15000 crores per annum. Around 25 more companies will be beginning to operate soon.
