TATA Group Hits a Six! Secures IPL Title

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on saturday announced that the TATA Group has secured the title sponsorship rights for the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the next five years, from 2024 to 2028. This partnership marks a new high for the coveted tournament, with the Indian conglomerate shelling out a whopping Rs. 2500 crore – the highest sponsorship amount ever fetched in the history of the IPL.

TATA Group is no stranger to the IPL, having held the title sponsorship in 2022 and 2023. They are also the title sponsors of the Women’s Premier League, the world’s premier women’s T20 competition. This renewed association signals a strong commitment to both cricket and the growing popularity of the sport, particularly in India and around the world.

Expressing his delight at the partnership, BCCI Honorary Secretary Jay Shah said, “This collaboration with the TATA Group is a testament to the IPL’s global appeal and its status as a premier sporting event. The TATA Group’s commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with the IPL’s vision, and we are confident that this partnership will take the tournament to even greater heights.”

Sharing his enthusiasm, IPL Chairperson Arun Singh Dhumal noted, “The record-breaking sum of Rs. 2500 crore speaks volumes about the immense value and marketability of the IPL. This deal not only sets a new benchmark but also reaffirms the IPL’s position as a leading global sporting event. We are excited to embark on this journey with the TATA Group and create exceptional cricketing experiences for our fans.”

The TATA Group further strengthens its presence in the world of sports, while the IPL gears up for another exciting season with increased revenue and renewed brand partnerships. Cricket fans can certainly expect thrilling matches, innovative campaigns, and an even more electrifying atmosphere in the years to come.
