This Presidential Election Will Determine Future Of India – Yashwant Sinha in Gujarat

Opposition’s joint candidate for presidential elections, Yashwant Sinha, this morning, met with Gujarat Congress MLAs and party members in Gandhinagar.

Jagdish Thakor, President of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, welcomed Sinha and reiterated the party’s support. He said that Sinha was their candidate, and he was sure to get maximum support.

Yashwant Sinha addressed the reporters, saying, “I am lucky to have come to the land of Sardar Gandhi of Gujarat. Earlier, I used to visit this state to discuss economic issues, but that does not happen anymore. That is why I am glad that the Congress party planned this visit and promised to support me.”

Talking about the presidential elections, Sinha said, “This presidential election is taking place under unusual circumstances, with an undeclared emergency going on in the country. Journalists are being attacked, and freedom of speech is in jeopardy. People are being divided on various unethical basis. All this needs to be stopped, or else it will be the end.”

Furthermore, Sinha said, “This fight is ideological, it does not matter who the candidate is or what caste he belongs to. This election will be by secret ballot, and I wish the voter would use his or her intelligence. This election is even more important than the presidency, this fight will determine the future of India.”
