Three Policemen Swaying To Music In Moving Car, Face Suspension

| Updated: January 20, 2022 21:20

Three police constables from Kutch district of Gujarat have been suspended for dancing in their cars, breaking traffic rules and COVID norms.

The constables identified as Jagdish Solanki, Haresh Chaudhari and Raja Hiragar had to face suspension after their video showing them swaying to music sans mandatory face masks, went viral. Curiously, the fourth constable in the car has not been suspended.

The Kutch-East Superintendent of Police, Mayur Patil, took action against the ‘dancing’ constables and said that their behaviour was indecent. In a Press note, Mr Patil said that the constables had violated traffic rules and indulged in acts that tarnished the image of the police. These constables not only violated the traffic norms, but they were also not wearing any face masks.

A statement by the police said, “A viral video was brought to notice by the media and several social media channels in which police personnel can be seen dancing on songs, while wearing a police uniform, inside a four-wheeler Such acts of breaking traffic laws while driving doesn’t suit a disciplined department and brings a bad name to the police’’

According to the statement, a letter has been written to Superintendent of Police, Banaskantha recommending disciplinary action against the fourth policeman.

The video was apparently shot by one of the policemen on a mobile phone.
