A heinous crime has come to light in Guna, Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday, a group of people set a woman ablaze for resisting their offer to trespass her family land. Currently, the victim is in critical condition in Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal. The doctors are treating her severe burns.
A few days ago, Rampyari Bai pursued police protection as the accused threatened her. However, the cops denied her security. Later, footage revealed that a group of people set her on fire at Dhanoria village, Bamori. It is not clear whether the accused shot the video or someone else.
The victim said in a statement that five people, three-man and a woman, one of them known as Pandit, poured diesel on her and set her flaming before fleeing the location. On Saturday afternoon,
A member of the vulnerable Saharia tribe, Rampyari Bai, reached the land on Saturday afternoon. The accused were ploughing the area, and the victim objected to this action, leading to the ablaze. Her husband, Arjun Saharia, claimed they received the land under the Chief Minister Welfare Scheme during the Digvijay Singh government in MP.
However, the local authorities settled the land ownership dispute with the help of local authorities in May. Further, the local police registered a complaint and took the accused under custody. But, they denied the allegations and claimed that woman did it to herself.
