Twinkle Khanna has recently expressed her desire for her children to elope and get married. Married to actor Akshay Kumar since 2001, they share two children, Aarav and Nitara.
The actress-turned-author shared a conversation she had with her sister Rinke Khanna. Reflecting on Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s elaborate pre-wedding festivities, Twinkle admitted her preference for her children to bypass the pomp and circumstance.
In her column, Khanna explained her rationale, jokingly citing her inability to match Nita Ambani’s dance skills and her husband’s tendency to doze off after 10 pm. She quipped, “If my children really want me to be happy, then the best thing they can do is just elope.”
Additionally, Twinkle Khanna humorously recounted her husband Akshay Kumar’s spirited performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding event. She likened his energetic dancing to the forceful drilling of an oil well in Jamnagar soil.
Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar, who exchanged vows on January 17, 2001, share a son named Aarav and a daughter named Nitara. While Twinkle made her acting debut in 1995, she transitioned to writing after a successful stint in Bollywood.
