Udaipur Murder: ATS Questions People From Mutual WhatsApp Groups

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has started investigating a few people from Ahmedabad. Reportedly members of a WhatsApp group with a person involved in the Udaipur murder conspiracy.

The National Investigating Agency (NIA) is handling the problem concerning the murder of Udaipur over his support for Nupur Sharma. NIA revealed the presence of a WhatsApp group with several members, including the accused killers.

However, a Gujarat ATS official confirmed that no connection has come out in the conspiracy of anyone from Ahmedabad or Gujarat.

A senior ATS official said in their statement, “We have not found connection of anyone from Ahmedabad or Gujarat concerning the murder or conspiracy. However, we are investigating certain persons who were part of a WhatsApp group to check whether they were involved in any suspicious activity. The investigation is at a preliminary stage.”

On June 28 in Udaipur, a tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli murdered by Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad in his shop.
Shortly after the killing, the Rajasthan Police arrested the accused. Later some gruesome videos went viral on social media made by them.

The Ministry of Home (MHA) directed the NIA to take over the investigation at a later stage.

The NIA has arrested two more individuals, Mohammad Mohsin and Aasif, for their alleged involvement in the murder plot.
