A resident from Navrangpura saw his ultimate demise when a racing car ran over him near Navrangpura crossroads at around 3 P.M on July 8. He was simply walking on the road when the accident happened. An FIR was filed by Rahul Thakor with the B division traffic police on Saturday.
Rahul, who is the son of Kunwarji Thakor, the deceased, said in the FIR that his father was taking a stroll in front of a dairy near Navrangpura when a rash car driver hit him from behind. He was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, where it was known that he had multiple fractures in his leg and hip bone.
The injuries were fatal, and hence Kunwarji could not battle hard for long. A case of negligent driving causing death was hence filed against an unknown driver by B division traffic police.
According to the FIR, the car driver ran away immediately after the accident. As of now, the police with the B division traffic police have started checking CCTV cameras to find any clue to identify the accused, who remains unknown.
