Gujarat is bracing for unseasonal rainfall due to a cyclonic circulation over the northeast Arabian Sea and the adjoining Gujarat coast, according to the latest forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The cyclonic circulation, which lies between 1.5 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level, is expected to bring rain from May 11th to May 13th.
The IMD Bulletin indicates that light rain is very likely at isolated places in the Dang district of South Gujarat region on May 11th. The forecast for May 12th and 13th predicts light rain at isolated places in the districts of South Gujarat region, including Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad and Dang.
However, before the anticipated rainfall, the state is set to experience scorching hot and humid conditions. The IMD has issued a heatwave warning for the next two days, particularly for the Kutch district.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun during peak hours. Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
