| Updated: January 9, 2023 14:12

The 1934 Packard 1107 Coupe Roadster rode way ahead of the other contenders who had gathered on the lawns of the magnificent old-world Laxmi Vilas Palace from all over the world. It was a difficult task to choose the best among a bevy of beauty.

The gorgeous vintage beauty, owned by Gautam Singhania, chairman and managing director of Raymond Group, took home the “Best of Show” honour at the 10th annual 21 Gun Salute Concours d’Elegance on Sunday.

The 1958 Velocette Venom 500 single owned by Pune-based Reuben Solomon dominated the show and took home the “Best of Show” prize in the bike category. The royal Gaekwads, who also own some of the classic antique cars, hosted the three-day vintage car display.

Madan Mohan, Chairman and Managing Trustee, of 21 Gun Salute Heritage and Cultural Trust organized the show, saying, “It was an amalgamation of splendid automobiles with India’s rich heritage and culture. It was an honour to organize this exhibition where the participants didn’t just bring the cars but fascinating stories behind them too.”

Royal scion Samarjitsinh Gaekwad said, “It was good to have so many vintage cars from across the globe in the city. Each of these automobiles has its own interesting stories and many have a royal connection.”
