The Prime Minister stated at the outset that today is a Matru Vandana day for him (mother worship). He began his day by seeking blessings from his mother, who celebrated her 100th birthday today. Following that, he dedicated the redeveloped Shree Kalika Mata temple on Pavagadh Hill, where he prayed for the country and asked the goddess for strength to serve the country and for the fulfilment of the country’s pledges in the Amrit Kaal. The Prime Minister referred to projects of today’s program worth Rs 21,000 and said  these projects would empower India’s concept of  development through the development of Gujarat. He said these huge investments in maternal health, homes for the poor, connectivity and higher education will  boost Gujarat’s industrial development. Many of these projects are related to women’s health, nutrition and empowerment, he said. He said today that the government’s twin efforts  to make women’s empowerment the cornerstone of development were renewed by the blessing of Maa Kalika.

He reiterated the importance of maternal and female health. Mother’s health is important not only for the mother, but for the whole family, especially  the child. “Malnutrition was a big challenge here  when Gujarat gave me the opportunity to serve me 20 years ago. Since then, we have been gradually working in this direction and the  results are today. But you can see it, “he added. The Prime Minister also talked about measures to address the sickle cell problem in tribal areas. He said  the decision to celebrate September as “Poshan Mah” Nutrition Month would help  women in Gujarat. The government has endeavored to provide an environment available to women through programs such as Swachh Bharat and Ujjwala, as well as nutrition.
