Vadodara: Three Held for Running Illegal ‘Couple’s Box’

The Sayajigunj police arrested a restaurant owner and two managers—Chetan Hadiya, 31, Krishna Chauhan, 19, and Sagar Solanki, 30—for allegedly running an illegal “couple’s box” in a restaurant in the Fatehgunj area of Vadodara. The restaurant, Box Café, allegedly charged Rs 250 per hour for access to the “private couple’s box”.

It is the second such offence registered against the trio since May. The Sayajigunj Police had booked the accused under Indian Penal Code Section 188. They were later granted bail.

Police Inspector RG Jadeja of Sayajugunj said, “The She Team of the police station raided the hotel and we arrested the accused, who were booked for violating prohibitory orders for the second time. The couples at the hotel were let off with a warning.”
