With Vapi becoming a hub for chemical industries, the Gujarat Finance Minister, Kanu Desai informed that the government is planning to elevate Vapi to a municipal corporation. He said that Vapi is an industrial city and houses 2200 industrial unit.
“Could be the biggest industrial cluster in Asia,” said Desai.
Desai participated in an event with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel laid the foundation stones for various projects of over Rs 500 crores for Vapi. He further said that the population of Vapi is increasing and is currently between 2.5 to 3 lacs. Meanwhile, the population of the adjoining villages are also increasing and facing the hurdles of construction activities.
“We will move towards making Vapi a municipal corporation,” said Desai.
In the last municipality elections, BJP had won 41 of the 44 seats. He said that this time they are going to target all the seats and he expects cooperation from the netizens.
