A visa consultant in Ahmedabad has claimed that he has been defrauded by a fake visa agent. He says he promised at least 10 people overseas permanent residency and jobs. He says the fake agent took his commission worth over a crore of Indian rupees. The agent was fake.
According to Dikesh Kumar, a visa consultant. one Urjit Kavi met him through a mutual friend. Urjit reportedly took Dikesh into confidence and Urjit then gave him files of 10 clients who were seeking Permanent Residencies abroad along with jobs. According to Dikesh, he paid Rs 1.02 crore to Urjit.
However, after two months when nothing moved, Dikesh asked Urjit about what was happening. Dikesh then thought Urjit was cooking up stories. When the clients started inquiring with Dikesh, he demanded a refund from Urjit who in turn provided a set of documents, including visas, sponsor letters, PR cards, and bill, claiming they were proof of progress. But upon verification, all the documents were found to be fake.
When confronted, Urjit returned the client files and issued cheques as reimbursement, but the cheques bounced, leaving Dikesh no resort but to approach the police. and his clients without either the promised visas or their money.
