Traders across the country, including Surat and Ahmedabad, have staged agitation and protested against the government over the GST issue.
As a result, the government has started trying to avert the wrath of the textile traders. In this case, BJP state president C.R. Patil said some people were trying to agitate on the GST issue and that some political parties might be behind his efforts. He said that the central government has always given priority to the textile industry. He further said that GST should be 5% which has already been represented to the Centre.
In this case, MP Darshana Zardosh said that the GST issue has been presented at the appropriate level. The decision rests with the GST Counseling and the Union Finance Ministry. With the increase in GST on textiles, there is a danger of textiles becoming more expensive among the traders, which we have rightly stated. Traders need to trust the government in this matter.
Bhupendra Patel, the CM of Gujarat is also to make a presentation on this matter at the Center today.
