Yet Another Paper Leak In Gujarat

Quick on the heels of the paper leak in the head clerk examination on December 10, another paper leak has come to light in Saurashtra University.

The case was exposed at a news conference by the opposition Aam Aadmi Party which claimed that the paper for the third semester of B.Com was leaked in the WhatsApp group ‘Lovely Yaar’ less than an hour before the examination.

While the examination was supposed to start at 10 a.m., the paper was put out on the WhatsApp group at 9:11 am. The Registrar in Charge of the University. Mr Amit Parekh reported the matter to the police and an FIR was registered.

Mr Suraj Bagda, President of the student wing of the Rajkot unit of AAP said, “Today morning we had the Economics paper of B.Com Semester 3 before the examination. The paper was circulating at 9 am on a WhatsApp group when the examination was scheduled to start at 10 a.m. We went to Chancellor Dr Nitin Pethani who assured us of action on the matter.”

The President of Rajkot Education Cell, Mr Digvijay Singh Vaghela confirmed that they were informed through WhatsApp that the paper was circulating at 9 a.m. today. Later, we informed the Chancellor.

Frequent cases of paper leak have been observed in the university. We went to the chancellor so that the future of the students would not be ruined. If the culprits are not caught in coming days, there will be a fierce agitation,” he added.
