YouTube influencer Elvish Yadav has been arrested by Noida police in a case related to arranging poisonous snakes in a party.
Last year, Noida Police had registered an FIR against Yadav in Sector 39, following which the Bigg Boss OTT winner was called for questioning and subsequently arrested on Sunday.
Based on a complaint filed by the People For Animals (PFA) organisation, the Noida Police had raided a banquet hall located in Sector 51 and arrested five people after nine venomous snakes were found there. The PFA in its FIR named Elvish and accused him of organising rave parties in which they invite foreigners and arrange poisonous snakes.
The Noida Police on Sunday questioned him for more than two hours in connection with the case. The investigation by the veterinary department suggested that of the total nine snakes, the venom glands of five cobras were removed, and the other four were found not to be poisonous. Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, removing the venom glands of a snake is a punishable offence and the guilty can be jailed for seven years.
The snake charmers who have been caught are all residents of Molarband village in Delhi. They say that earlier these people were snake charmers but now they used to play drums at weddings. They do not know how the snakes came to them and they also do not know Elvish Yadav.
This is not the first time Yadav has landed in trouble. Recently, an FIR was lodged against him for beating up and assaulting a fellow YouTuber in Gurugram. The whole incident was recorded and shared on social media.
Elvish Yadav, also known as Siddhartha Yadav from Gurugram gained recognition after winning the second season of Bigg Boss OTT. He has also appeared in music videos including Bad Guy, Systumm, Punja Daab, Rao Sahab, Hum Toh Deewane, Meter Khench Ke and Bolero.
