2560 Covid Cases And 24 Deaths In Past 24 Hours In Gujarat

A day after the State reported a sharp decrease in daily Covid cases, Wednesday saw almost the same numbers of daily cases, as a daily tally stood at 2560. For the past few days, Covid numbers in the State have decreased.

New Covid cases have marginally increased to 2560 from 2504 reported on Monday, a marginal increase of 54 patients within a day.

Tuesday saw the daily Covid deaths at 28 in the State, whereas it has decreased to 24 on Wednesday. These deaths were reported from Ahmedabad 6, Vadodara 3, Surat 3, Mehsana 1, and Rajkot 3.The number of active cases in the State is 27,355. A total of 171 people in the State are on a ventilator.

While Ahmedabad city remained the most significant contributor with 965 cases, other major contributors include Vadodara with 296 cases, Vadodara rural with 110 cases, Mehsana with 106 cases, Banaskantha with 100 cases, and Gandhinagar with 97 cases. These six regions accounted for 70% of the Covid cases recorded today.

Scenario Across India:

According to Central Government data, Active Cases in India as of 9th February are 8,92,828. Whereas daily new cases in the last 24 hours in India stood at 71,365, and the daily positivity rate of India stood at 4.54 percent. Over 74.46 crore Covid Tests have been conducted so far in India.
