In a remarkable achievement, more than 5 crore Tiranga selfies have been uploaded on the Har Ghar Tiranga website.
This initiative was taken by the nodal Ministry for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Culture.
The purpose of the event was to foster deeper personal connect with the Tiranga.The program aimed to inculcate a physical and emotional connect with the flag itself and the country on the whole.. The second step of the movement was to participate in the national passion through the act of posting a selfie with the flag on the special website created for this initiative.
In the morning speech of the Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that prior to a few days of Independence we experienced a new movement that was renaissance and revival of a collective conscience for the country.
PM Modi had urged the citizens of India to join the Har Ghar Tiranga movement by setting up the national flag at their homes.
The achievement of 5 crore Tiranga selfies was attained on 15 August’s afternoon at around 4 P.M. People in India and across the world celebrated and took part in this movement to make it successful. The celebration of 75 years of Independence began on 12 March 2021 as a 75-week countdown to 15th August, 2022 and shall continue till 15 August, 2023.
Commenting upon the huge feat that was accomplished, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and DoNER, Kishan Reddy said “5 crores Tiranga selfies reflect the collective commitment of duty-bound Indians to keep the Nation first and always first. Thank you, India. This is indeed a special moment of outpouring of the collective expressions of love and connect for the motherland. I wish everyone a very Happy Independence Day!”
5 crore selfies with the flag is evidence to 5 crore promises that say they will keep India as a first priority and will work towards making India the Supreme Nation.
Prime Minister Modi also said in his Independence Day speech to the nation “I urge the youth to dedicate the next 25 years of their lives to the development of the nation. We will work towards the development of the entire humanity. That is the strength of India.”
