Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate the 3-day Vadnagar International Conference at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar on the occasion of World Museum Day on Wednesday, May 18. Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi and UNESCO representatives will also be present at the event.
The conference has been organized by the joint venture of the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Culture of the Government of Gujarat and the Union Ministry of Culture. This initiative is part of Amrut Mahotsav of Independence..
It is believed that this International Conference will be able to play a strategic role in developing Vadnagar, Mehsana district, as a ‘Landmark Heritage Destination’. The event will highlighting the city’s important aspects like ancient historical significance, architectural heritage, town planning in the current context to the world community and so on.
The Department of Sports and Youth and Cultural Affairs of the Government of Gujarat, under the guidance of Minister of State Harsh Sanghvi, are working hard to make this even a success.
The conference will also see discussion panels where various topics like development of Vadnagar’s history, heritage and cultural significance, Vadnagar’s archaeological sites, water management, traditional methods of water storage, Buddhist heritage, development of archaeological museums and others will be debated.
The International Conference will be attended by about 8 international level and about 20 national level speakers, UNESCO representatives, writers, historians, archaeologists, townspeople of Vadnagar, Sept University, IIT Gandhinagar, Deccan College, Pune, and more than a thousand students from various institutions.
