Charusat Gets Another Feather in its Cap

Charusat University has won another tag under its name by securing an “A+” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the second cycle. In 2016, Charusat became the first university to be given an “A” Grade in NAAC accreditation’s very first cycle in 2016. The university was formed under the Gujarat State Private University Act 2009, and had applied for NAAC accreditation, in two continuous cycles to verify and maintain its quality status.

NAAC was established in 1994 by the University Grants Commission. It is an autonomous organization with its headquarters in Bangalore. The aim of NCC is to create awareness among colleges and universities about processes and structures that can improve the quality of teaching and governance, through its evaluations. The NAAC peer team consisting of seven experts visited Charusat for three days and evaluated the university in various arenas, from academic programs to infrastructure, among others. They also interacted with various stakeholders of the university before giving the university a score of a solid 3.26 CGPA.

President of Charusat, Shri Surendra Patel said with pride, “Achieving higher grading in National Level accreditation by NAAC has strengthened CHARUSAT’s aspiration to be a World Class University.” The Registrar of Charusat, Dr Devang Joshi also congratulated the whole Charusat Family for their guidance and help that aided university achieve this status. Charusat has been announced as the Centre of Excellence by the Government of Gujarat this year.
