Sachin Pilot Supporters Demand To Resolve Rajasthan Leadership

| Updated: November 16, 2022 16:48

Sachin Pilot supporters, once again, started the debate of resolving the state leadership and ending all the confusion by meeting one-on-one with the MLAs.

Congress leaders from the Hadoti region who are believed to be close aids to the former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot have asked the Congress high command to resolve the pending leadership issues prior to the arrival of Rahul Gandhi-led ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in the state through Hadoti in the first week of December.

This past weekend, party leaders in Jhalawar, Kota, and Bundi organized press conferences in their respective districts. They have urged the party high command to resolve pending issues including state leadership, through one-on-one interactions with them. “While there is excitement regarding the Bharat Jodo Yatra, there is uncertainty in state Congress politics,” in a joint statement by former Bundi zila pramukh Rakesh Boyat, Chairman of Bundi Urban Cooperative Bank Satyesh Sharma, and others. “It would be appropriate to take a final decision on the pending issue in Rajasthan before Bharat Jodo Yatra enters the state so that the confusion in the party can be ended… additional delay may have a negative effect on the party’s prospects.”

Interacting with the media, Boyat said that they are hopeful that the talks with the MLAs would take place soon. Party’s District President for Kota Rural, Saroj Meena too echoed the demands of immediate talks with the party workers and the MLAs. She is criticizing Rajasthan CM Gehlot at the same time for his instability.

With just a year left in the state assembly elections, Pilot’s supporters are urging to make him the CM of Rajasthan as soon as possible. In order to support Gehlot’s bid for Congress president, about 90 party MLAs skipped a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party on that day. They were supposed to pass a one-line resolution authorizing the party high command to choose the next CM, who is believed to have been Pilot. Instead of attending the CLP meeting, Gehlot’s supporters instead handed in their resignation letters to Rajasthan Speaker C P Joshi.
