Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have announced that they are expecting their second child. He and Rose met in 2012 while working together on HBO’s Game Of Thrones, and they later got married. Rose played Ygritte, while Kit played Jon Snow, a favourite of the audience. They are already parents to their two-year-old son.
2019 has seen the end of Game of Thrones after eight seasons. A Jon Snow spin-off series, which was revealed in June 2022, will also include Kit as the lead. Kit was the one who brought up the notion to everyone engaged in the project, according to fantasy novelist George RR Martin.
The actor spoke to Jimmy Fallon, the host of NBC’s The Tonight Show, about his son and how he was about to get a big surprise. Then, he revealed Rose Leslie’s pregnancy.
Kit said of his two-year-old, “He loves applause. Every time he does something good, we give him applause and we’re worrying that’s kind of that’s pushing him towards acting. You might be too smart for this, go save the world. We’re thick. We had no choice. He’s about to get the shock of his life, which is that he’s about to get a brother or sister.”
The 36-year-old revealed that he was terrified this second time around. He shared, “You know, with the first baby, you’re like walking on clouds and dancing through fields of daisies for nine months — well, the man is, anyway. But this time, the reality check comes much shorter. You get practical real quick.”
He added that he and Rose had been preparing their son for the arrival of his new sibling, but that he still hadn’t fully understood it. When their second child was due, Kit remained mum.
Kit made appearances in the Marvel movie Eternals (2021) and the movie Baby Ruby (2022) after the series ended. Additionally, he appeared in an episode of the television anthology Modern Love (2021) and Criminal: UK (2020). Rose was last seen in the feature film Death on the Nile and also headlined the HBO series The Time Traveler’s Wife.
