IPL 2026 Nears Finals: 8 Teams In Playoff Race, GT Leads Strong, CSK-KKR In Hunt

The IPL 2026 is moving toward the end of this season’s matches, and the battleground has become extremely exciting as very few matches are left. Eight teams are preparing to win their remaining matches to secure one of the four playoff spots.

The highlighting part is that, in the race to win this year’s trophy, among all eight teams, Gujarat Titans have the highest points, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru and SunRisers Hyderabad are giving a tough fight. Meanwhile, after a short fall, Punjab Kings are making a comeback. This reflects that the race for the four playoff spots will be very exciting.

As per media analysis, the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru have secured a good position with 14 points from 11 matches, along with an excellent run rate. They just need a few wins to secure their spot in the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans, the highest point holders, have emerged as the strongest among all teams. With 16 points from 12 matches, they are the closest team to entering the playoffs.

SunRisers Hyderabad, who started slowly, are now making a comeback with 13 points from 11 matches. Although, to enter the playoffs, the team is under pressure to win the upcoming matches.

Chennai Super Kings, with 12 points from 11 matches, have also made a comeback after losing their first three matches. Now, they also need to win all their remaining matches to enter the playoffs.

Kolkata Knight Riders have also seen one of the biggest turnarounds this season. After a terrible run of losses, they have bounced back with four straight wins and are now standing with 11 points from 11 matches.

Talking about Rajasthan Royals, they have secured 12 points from 11 matches. It seems good, but their inconsistent form has made the situation difficult.

Delhi Capitals’ chances are almost over as they have the lowest points, making their playoff entry very difficult. Delhi Capitals have 10 points from 12 matches.

Whereas the two teams, Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants, have already been eliminated from the tournament.
