Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday, five days after being stabbed multiple times by an intruder at his Bandra residence. The 54-year-old actor underwent emergency surgery following the attack, which occurred in the early hours of January 16.
Doctors reported that Khan suffered three injuries: two on his hand and one on the right side of his neck.
The most severe injury was to his spine, where a sharp object was lodged. Medical professionals successfully removed the object and repaired the injury. Khan recovered well after surgery, transitioning from the intensive care unit to a special room on January 17.
The police arrested 30-year-old Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir in Thane on Sunday in connection with the attack.
As a precautionary measure following the incident, CCTV cameras have been installed at Khan’s Bandra home. Videos of the installation process have surfaced online. Doctors have advised the actor to recuperate at home for the next few days.
The attack has sent shockwaves through Bollywood, raising concerns about the safety of high-profile individuals.
