Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) announced on Friday the successful commissioning of a new green evacuation transmission project in Tamil Nadu, marking a significant development for the national transmission infrastructure needed for wind energy evacuation in the Karur-Tiruppur region of Tamil Nadu.

This project involves the establishment of a 400/230 kV, 1,000 MVA Karur Pooling Station along with its associated transmission line of 400kV D/C Pugalur-Pugalur transmission line. The primary objective of this initiative is to enhance access to reliable and eco-friendly energy for industrial, commercial, and residential consumers while also bolstering the southern regional grid. In addition to these objectives, the project plays a crucial role in aligning goals with scientific principles.

Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) secured this distinctive project through tariff-based competitive bidding for a 35-year duration.

On a global scale, over 100 CEOs and senior executives from the World Economic Forum’s Coalition of CEO Climate Leaders, which includes prominent Indian companies such as Infosys and Mahindra Group, have joined forces to issue an open letter.

This coalition represents a CEO-led community of companies with $4 trillion in annual revenue and a workforce of 12 million employees, making it the largest group dedicated to achieving net-zero emissions.

The open letter calls upon business leaders to expedite their efforts and establish science-based targets for achieving worldwide net-zero emissions. The letter underscores the vital importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to realize substantial emissions reductions by 2030.
