The newly-launched Agnipath “Tour-Of-Duty” recruitment scheme to the Army, Navy and Air Force is finally underway. Despite vehement protests which took the violence and vandalism route, the combined defence chiefs went ahead, with solid backing from the government.
On July 5, the IAF Agniveer recruitment concluded with a record submission of over 7.5 lakh applications. “The online registration process conducted by #IAF towards #AgnipathRecruitmentScheme has been completed. Compared to 6,31,528 applications in the past, which was the highest in any recruitment cycle, this time 7,49,899 applications have been received,” IAF tweeted, Tuesday.
Additionally, the IAF also announced a formal closure to the online application programme. In just four days after the online application window opened, it had received more than 90,000 applications. This year, the IAF will hire 3,000 Agniveers. Training is expected to commence December 30, following two rounds of exams and medical testing.
On the other hand, Army aspirants have also requested a deadline extension. The online registration process for the same will run through July 5 to August 3. Candidates can apply for the post of Agniveer General Duty, Agniveer Technical, Agniveer Store Keeper Technical/ Clerk, Agniveer Tradesman 10th pass and Agniveer Tradesman 8th pass.
The notification has mentioned all the terms and conditions, service, pay scale, service, enrollment, employability, leave and other details.
