Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel this morning participated in the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ organized by Gyanda Girls High School in Ghatlodia, Ahmedabad. This event was held to celebrate the Centre’s Har Ghar Tiranga initiative under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which marks India’s 75 years of independence.
The highlight of this event was the 1551 feet long Indian flag that was carried by 1551 students through the procession. The yatra started off from Umiya Hall and turned back from Prabhatchowk near KK Nagar in Ghatlodia.
In all, over 3000 students participated in the event. These students carried posters, plaques, banners and such to showcase their love for the country. Several students demonstrated their spirit of patriotism through various types of performances, including dance, music, sport and dramas.
District Education Officer of Ahmedabad RR Vyas, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) city president Amit Shah and co-treasurer Dharmendra Shah and many other officials attended the event.
Such events are being held throughout Gujarat to support the Centre’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign. While last week such a programme was organized in Surat, yesterday a similar event took place in Banaskantha. The Tiranga yatra started from Ambaji and ended in Nadabet. Gujarat State Minister Kirtisinh Vaghela, MP Parbat Patel, Banasderi Chairman Shankar Choudhary and other BJP workers attended the event.
