With a 10-year-high maximum temperature, Ahmedabad experienced a maximum of 44.2 Degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which was 2.9 Degrees Celsius higher than the normal temperature. The Indian Meteorological Department stated it to be the second such instance in nearly 18 days, where the maximum temperature mark crossed 44 Degrees Celsius. On April 8, the city had reported a maximum of 44 Degrees Celsius.
Ahmedabad was the second hottest place in Gujarat followed by Surendranagar with the highest maximum temperature of 44.3 Degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Notably, in total around seven places in Gujarat reported a maximum temperature higher than 43 Degrees Celsius.
Moreover, the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad is expected to soar above 44 Degrees Celsius for the coming two days, stated the IMD statement adding a heatwave prediction over Surat.
With increasing temperature, the city has been witnessing a spike in heatstroke cases. To avoid the severe consequences of increased weather temperatures, the experts recommend avoiding going outdoors during afternoon hours with an increased amount of fluids intake and wearing light-colored, loose and cotton clothes is favorable.
