Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad will now be a ‘Silent Airport’ as the administration hopes to offer a better experience to the travellers. This means that the airport will no longer issue incessant announcements for passengers, relating to gate numbers, boarding and other instructions.
Instead, the airport has now installed more than 100 screens at strategic locations outside the terminal, at the check-in hall and security hold area as well. The screens will display all the required information for passengers. This will ensure that the passengers do not miss important
According to sources, the airport authorities have taken this decision to offer a more peaceful experience to the travellers. Now the passengers can continue their activities while waiting for their flights without being disturbed by blaring announcements.
Nevertheless, audio announcements will be made for any emergency or security-related issues, and also for mandatory Covid protocols.
