Bollywood is once again witnessing a wedding frenzy. The Gangubai Kathiawadi fame, Alia Bhatt, is set to tie knots with actor Ranbir Kapoor.
Alia and Ranbir first appeared as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception in 2018. In the same year, they also started shooting for Ayan Mukherjee’s film Brahmastra. Since then, Alia and Ranbir have been seen together in professional and private events.
The couple even went to Ranthambore with their family to enjoy the vacation together. Alia was then also invited to the annual Kapoor Christmas lunch.
Alia-Ranbir’s wedding was to take place on 14 April, confirmed by Rahul Bhatt, Alia’s brother. But, it seems that they had to postpone their wedding due to unknown reasons. There is a lot of speculation about the dates, though they haven’t fixed any deadline yet.
The media has asked Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir’s mother, about the wedding date. But, there is no response from her side as well.
In an interview on Tuesday, Rahul Bhatt clarified that the wedding is no longer taking place on 14 April. Also, there is no function on 13 April. Earlier, Robin Bhatt, Alia’s family member, informed the media that the mehndi function would take place on 13 April in the Kapoor family house in Chembur. “Decoration of the house is complete, and security arrangements are underway,” he added.
Because someone leaked the information to the media, the wedding got canceled.
Rahul said, “Everybody knows that the wedding is taking place. But there is no wedding on April 13 or 14. That is for sure. We changed the dates after the media got the information. Everything changed. That’s because there’s a lot of pressure. I promise there is no wedding on April 13 or 14.”
