Congress leaders in Rajasthan are gearing up for the upcoming assembly polls later this year. On Tuesday, senior Congress leaders held individual meetings with party MLAs from Udaipur, Kota, and Bharatpur divisions to get their feedback ahead of the elections.
The discussions were held at the party’s new office in Jaipur and were attended by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress state in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and state president Govind Singh Dotasra.
While the Congress leaders stated that the objective of the exercise is to get feedback from the MLAs about their constituencies, it comes after senior party leader Sachin Pilot sat on a day-long fast, alleging inaction by the Gehlot government into allegations of corruption during the previous BJP rule.
Pilot, who has been involved in a leadership tussle with Gehlot, renewed his demand on Monday, saying, “It’s been a week now, but no action has been taken.”
The Tonk MLA skipped his interaction with party leaders on Monday and instead addressed two scheduled public meetings in Shahpura (Jaipur) and Khetri (Jhunjhunu), which fall under the Ajmer division.
On Monday night, Gehlot tweeted photos of the one-on-one discussions held with MLAs from the Ajmer and Jodhpur divisions and stated that necessary suggestions were received regarding ‘Mission 2030’ to make Rajasthan the number 1 state by then.
As per the schedule released by the party, on Wednesday, a one-day workshop will be organised in which the MLAs and other party leaders and workers will participate.
The MLAs from Bikaner and Jaipur divisions will interact with Randhawa, Gehlot and Dotasra on Thursday.
