Barmer Hottest City While Akola Hits 44℃ For Three Days Straight

The summers in India have been upsurging with an unusual velocity. Yesterday, the Barmer district in Rajasthan hit a maximum temperature of 44.5℃ at 2:30 PM. Chances are that Barmer breaks its May  2014 record of 46.8℃ in the upcoming days. 

Other cities of Rajasthan have also recorded high temperatures and made it to the top 10 list. Jaisalmer(3rd) noticed a maximum temperature of 43.4℃, while Rajgarh noticed 43.3℃. 

The first runner-up in the hottest yesterday list was the Akola district of Maharashtra. Akola witnessed a temperature rise up to 44℃ with a humidity of 19%. The city hit a hat-trick by recording temperatures above 44℃ for three simultaneous days.

Akola was also the world’s hottest city on Tuesday. Amravati district in Maharashtra also noticed a maximum heat of 43.2℃.

Thus, for the previous few days, the Vidarbha area of Central India has been experiencing extreme heat. Three districts of Gujarat have reported high temperatures yesterday. They are Kandla (43.4℃), Amreli (42.8℃), and Bhuj-Rudramata (42.8℃). 

Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone and Hoshangabad districts also reported temperatures higher than 43℃.
