A 12-year-old was killed allegedly by her brother, a 30-year-old security guard. According to a report, the guard suspected that since his sister had been menstruating, she must have got intimate with someone.
A case of murder was registered under section 302 of Indian Penal Code.
The girl, according to the report, lived with her sister-in-law and brother in Ulhasnagar, revealed Madhukar Kad, senior inspector of Ulhasnagar police.
The brother, noticing bloodstains on her clothes, suspected she was having an affair. The report claimed that the girl might not have had knowledge of menstrual cycle and may not have been able to explain it.
Horrific details have emerged about the way he singed her mouth with tongs, hurt her back and various parts of the body owing to which she suffered injuries, the officer said.
The girl was taken to Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar for treatment but was declared ‘brought dead’. The girl’s body has been sent for a post-mortem.
