The Government of India is contemplating the incorporation of ITI courses alongside the 12th-grade curriculum, which has been inspired by the Chhattisgarh model- said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a programme organised at his residence in Raipur. He also distributed Higher Secondary-cum-ITI trade certificates to the students and gave appointment letters to lecturers under Teacher Recruitment – 2023.
CM Baghel said there was an increased demand for young people with ITI training. If one was interested in pursuing a career in the IT industry, completing one year training after high school was required.
“Since this may require a significant investment of time, now students are able to receive their ITI certification upon passing their 12th-grade exams. This presents a valuable opportunity for those seeking to accelerate their career growth and establish themselves in the IT field,” he said.
By obtaining a certificate in their chosen trade after completing their 12th grade, students can become experts and secure jobs in their field of expertise. Baghel said the Chhattisgarh government had taken steps to help students achieve their goals, and the Government of India was also interested in adopting this approach.
He also congratulated the appointed lecturers and students who received trade certificates and wished them the best.
After the recruitment of 27,000 teachers, the government started distributing appointment letters. He emphasised the importance of dedication in teaching and instructed the newly appointed lecturers to take Chhattisgarh to great heights in the field of education. The goal is to fulfil the resolution of “Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh” through their efforts.
He further added that the effort to provide education to children in English medium through the Swami Atmanand schools was truly commendable. Over 4.5 lakh children are studying in 727 Swami Atmanand schools across the state.
The CM expressed his satisfaction that the state was already two years ahead in implementing initiatives that the Government of India was currently contemplating.
CM Baghel emphasised the pivotal role played by technology in shaping the future. “In regard to this, we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 1,186 crore with Tata Technologies to upgrade 36 ITIs,” he said, adding, “The upgrade will introduce many trades that cater to the needs of both the country and the world, creating employment opportunities for 10,000 people.”
Our unwavering commitment to facilitating employment for all has led us to distribute unemployment allowances, as well as provide vocational training to the youth. While the distribution of unemployment allowances brings some relief, our joy is immeasurable when the youth secure gainful employment. We have established 300 Rural Industrial Parks (RIPA), and are constructing Urban Industrial Parks as well to provide our skilled youth with opportunities to develop their businesses and careers.
Minister for Higher Education, Technical Education, Skill Development and Youth Welfare, Umesh Patel, praised Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel`s decision to offer ITI trades certification to students in addition to their 12th standard education. He also stated that the Central Government had now followed suit, which was a testament to the success of this initiative.
