Delhi- Bengaluru IndiGo Flight  With 184 On Board Catches Fire, No Casualty

Seconds after taking off from Delhi, IndiGo flight 6E-2131 to Bengaluru caught fire in one of its engines. The  Airbus A-320 aircraft was grounded at Delhi airport. There were 84 people on board. All are safe.

The incident took place around 9:45 pm. Preliminary reports indicate that the pilot used the fire extinguisher in the engine and the fire went out within moments. The passengers were evacuated b after 11 pm and accommodated on another flight around midnight.

IndiGo said in a statement, “An aircraft operating flight 6E2131 from Delhi to Bengalore experienced an engine stall during the take-off roll. The take-off was aborted, and the aircraft safely returned to the bay.”

 The DGCA said a detailed probe will be carried out and stated  that “On 28-10-2022 indigo A320-Ceo aircraft VT-IFM operating flight 6E-2131 (Delhi-Bangalore) was involved in reject takeoff as Engine 2 Fail warning came.”

One of the passengers said that there was initial panic but the crew made them feel comfortable.
