| Updated: February 28, 2022 19:46

People are fleeing war-torn Ukraine, but Miles Routledge, 22, is in Ukraine for fun. The 22-year-old British man visited Afghanistan shortly after the Taliban took over and since then he is seriously into disaster tourism.

What is Disaster Tourism?
Disaster tourism is when someone visits places where disasters of different types are about to happen. The tragedy can be natural, like volcano eruptions, floods or human-made disasters like the one we see in Ukraine created by the Russian invasion.

About his visit to Afghanistan:
Miles Routledge is a 22-year-old British man known for his trips to war-hit countries. Shortly after the Taliban took over, Afghanistan Miles visited the war-hit country. On being asked about why he chose to visit the war-hit country. He then said he wanted to explore the ‘worst places in the world.’ Unfortunately, he had to be evacuated during his Afghanistan visit as Taliban militancy forced him into hiding.

He was criticized for his trip to Afghanistan when the Taliban had already taken over Lashkar Gah, Kandahar and was already advancing to Kabul. Nevertheless, he posted regular updates from a war-hit country on his Facebook, Twitch, and 4chan.

Ukraine’s Pain Miles’s Fun?

From his posts on social media, it seems that Miles Routledge is enjoying what he calls adventure.

He posted another video of air sirens going off in Ukraine:

In his recent post, Miles says,” Stopped and interrogated by Ukrainian forces, took photos of me and my passport. The press badge worked, lol.”
