Officials at the Delhi Airport issued an emergency on Saturday after a FedEx aircraft headed for Dubai was struck by a bird shortly after take-off. According to officials, the action was taken so that the aircraft could land and technicians could examine it for any technical issues before granting clearance.
The plane touched down safely, and a thorough check was performed. Bird-hit accidents, according to sources, are regular, but they present significant technological difficulties and can be quite dangerous.
A Bengaluru-bound Akasa Air flight was compelled to return to Mumbai in October 2022 after a bird-hit.
