Finding It Difficult To Study? Here Are A Few Tips That Might Help…

| Updated: July 20, 2022 14:21

In today’s world, the competition just keeps getting harder, especially in a country like India with thousands of young and intelligent minds. Here, we have drawn up a list of the best study habits you need to enhance your performance and make studying just a tad bit easier.

Sleep Schedule

Sleep is one of the most crucial factors for proper brain functioning. A teenager must get at least 8 hours of sleep every night to recover from the stress of the day and to wake up energized and ready to focus for more time.

A Suitable Study Method

When it comes to students, everybody is different. What works for one may not work for others. Thus, students should explore various study methods and find out what works best. Some of the most effective study methods are the Pomodoro method, the SQ3R method, and the Feynman technique.

A Fitting Time

It is necessary to find whether your brain functions better in the morning or runs fast at night. However, no matter what you are, a morning person or a night owl, you can always train your brain to do what you desire. Experimenting with different timings can help you find your hour of the day that enables you to focus better and retain the most information.

Staying Active

Teenagers need to keep a balance between fitness and academics. As young minds, we must exercise three times a week for an hour. Exercise builds motivation and discipline. It also helps to maintain mental health. According to some studies, physical activity increases dopamine and serotonin levels.

Limit Distractions

Cutting off distractions from your surroundings can increase your attention span. You can focus on your task when there is nothing to preoccupy you. Smartphones have become the cause of a decrease in focus and loss of attentiveness.

A simple tip for staying away from your phone during studies is to put it in aeroplane mode and hide it somewhere. Another effective method is to declutter your space.

Take A Break

Taking a break and relaxing your mind is a crucial practice for every person. It wipes out your chances of burnout. Experts often recommend you to take up a short activity and freshen up. Going on a walk, listening to a podcast/ music, having a snack, talking to a friend, etc., are some great past times.

In conclusion, taking simple steps can help you reach your goals for better performance. One needs to ingrain these simple steps in their routine until they become an unconscious standard practice.
