| Updated: April 3, 2022 18:20

Gujarat Government on Sunday suspended an officer posted at the Statue of Unity. As per the Government’s order Deputy collector and Joint CEO of the Statue of Unity Nilesh Dubey’s comments against the tribal community went viral following which he was suspended. An application was made to the district collector by the locals for his removal. Locals had also called ‘bandh’ after his comments.

Nilesh Dubey’s Reaction:
Reacting to the allegations against him, Deputy collector Nilesh Dubey said that incomplete audio is being played which only shows half-truth. He insists that a full audio clip should be played to know the truth. He further added that he is not against any community, but this doctored tape is being run by people with malicious intentions to mislead society.

Youth Congress protests:
Congress and Youth Congress activists burnt the effigy of Nilesh Dubey at Rajpipla. The protesters demanded that the government register a complaint against Nilesh Dubey under the Atrocities Act and that Nilesh Dubey publicly apologizes to the tribal community, and that the government suspend Nilesh Dubey.
