Gujarat Income Tax Department won big at All India Civil Services Swimming Tournament in Gandhinagar. Income Tax Assistant Divya Satija won three gold medals at the tournament. The 25-year old has been with the I-T department since 2017. Over 200 members from across India participated in the tournament.  She represented Regional Sports Board.

Speaking to Vo! Sanjeev Kumar Dev– Additional Commissioner Of Income Tax Department and Gujarat Secretary of Regional Sports Board–said “Income Tax department provides financial support and even all needed facilities for the officer to flourish in not swimming but in any sport of their choice.  We provide casual leaves, special coaching classes and support to the I-T official.”

It was held on Dec 21-23, 2021 at Sachivalaya Gymkhana, Sector-21, Gandhinagar. It was conducted under the auspices of Central Civil Services Cultural And Sports Board, New Delhi.  It was organised by Sachivalya Welfare committee GAD, Government of Gujarat.

Speaking to Vo! Divya “The I-T sports department and the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax have supported me throughout my journey. I practice five hours a day–two hours swimming in morning, one hour gym in afternoon and two hours practice in evening–this wouldn’t have been possible without the motivation of senior members at Ahmedabad’s I-T department.” She credits the I-T department for her success.

She had earlier won Asian SAF Games gold medalist in 2018.

She hails from Haryana and has done her studies from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. Before joining the Income Tax department she was working with the multinational consulting company Deloitte.
