The Government of Gujarat has taken the initiative to add the chapter on Farming to the Social Science Textbooks of 9th grade.
The chapter will eventually be added to Grade 10, 11, and 12’s textbooks as well. This announcement was made by State Education Minister Vaghani on 9th June. He also shared that the subject was specifically curated by experts for grade 9 students.
The chapter has been titled “The History of Indian Agriculture and Introduction to Indian Farming” the minister shared.
The topics shall include themes such as
– History of Indian Agriculture, Ancient self-Sufficient Rural System, the Beginning of Green Revolution and its Results, What is Natural Farming and Why should we use it, etc.
