Gujarat: Offline Teaching For Class 1 to 5 Likely To Resume From December

| Updated: November 18, 2021 09:36

The state education department is considering the possibility to restart the offline lectures for students in Class 1 to 5 from December this year. But the department may take some more to consider restarting the classes as the state has been recording a rise in Covid cases since the last few days. However, the government may take into consideration the fact that the cases among children are really low and hence the classes can be restarted by following all the necessary Covid protocols.

Also, During the Covid-19 pandemic, parents in Gujarat demanded a reduction in school fees citing online education as the reason. In response to this, the state government announced a reduction of up to 25 per cent in the ongoing academic year. However, the government is now taking into consideration the cancellation of the reduction in fees for the academic session starting after Diwali, according to the sources.

The decision to reduce the fees was due to the closure of certain extra-curricular activities and school infrastructural activities. But now when offline lectures in the schools have already been started, the decision of the reduction in school fees has been taken back, stated the sources.
