Gujarat police have once again unearthed a major drug smuggling racket in the Gir Somnath district. The operation led to the seizure of a massive haul of 50 kilos of heroin from a boat at the Veraval port. Nine individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.

The operation was carried out by the teams of Gir Somnath Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Special Operations Group (SOG), who have estimated the seized drugs to be worth around 350 crores. The operation was executed last night, as confirmed by Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi in a recent tweet.

According to a midnight news report, the police had seized a large quantity of drugs in an operation near the Naliya Goli corner of Veraval. The operation was successfully carried out by the SOG and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) team.

Currently, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Gir Somnath SOG, and LCB have initiated a thorough investigation into the case. Efforts are underway to trace the origin of the drugs and identify the suppliers involved in this illicit trade.
