Halle Berry Remembers Her James Bond Anniversary With That Classic Bikini Scene

| Updated: November 26, 2022 18:13

James Bond movies had a huge year in 2022, celebrating a number of anniversaries at significant turning points. The biggest celebration, however, was for the 60th anniversary of the franchise’s start with Dr. No in 1962; although, this year, a number of specific films had special significance. One of these films was Die Another Day, which Halle Berry, one of its stars, praised.

Berry was inspired to share some good news on Twitter in honour of the 20th anniversary of her iconic bikini scene from the 20th James Bond movie. Die Another Day had a tonne of easter eggs referencing every film in the series and served as the landmark film for the 40th anniversary of the Bond film franchise. Halle Berry’s triumphant arrival was a parody of Ursula Andress’ initial appearance as Honey Rider in Dr. No, where she first appeared as Giacinta “Jinx” Johnson.

Re-creating James Bond history was a successful approach to introducing 007, one of the most recognisable Bond Women. Since Daniel Craig got to recreate that moment in Casino Royale, it was clear that it wouldn’t be the last time it served as inspiration. But it wasn’t exactly the warmest day on set for this significant Die Another Day scene.

Even though Die Another Day isn’t available to stream right now, Halle Berry can still save the world in other ways. As of the time of this writing, her part in the disaster movie Moonfall by Roland Emmerich is accessible through the HBO Max membership.
