PadmaShri honoured and known as Golden Girl and Payyoli Express, PT Usha was born on June 27, 1964 in Kuttali of Kozhikode district in Kerala. The retired Indian athlete has won number of medals in athletics while representing the country and was the first women from India to reach the Olympic finals. PT Usha has also been conferred Arjuna Award. She is now associated with Usha School of Athletics (USHA) at Koyilandi, near Kozhikode, Kerala.
